Police arrest transvestite thief

Police on Tuesday arrested a transvestite for a robbery at a Thai Airways pilot's house in Bangkok, reports said.

Police charged Chaiya Phanta, 35, with robbery and seized valuables worth over one million baht reported stolen from Sethwattana Utapow's home in Wang Tong Lang district of Bangkok on Aug 15.

Items seized include several amulets, bags, watches, a diamond ring and a gold necklace.

    After reading your comment re khatoey pick pocket gangs stealing wallets when passing through the Sukhumvit area I was wondering how many wallets you've had stolen from them. More than 1?

    Pickpockets come in all sizes, sexes, and ages.

    Maybe safer if you walked on the other side of the street, huh?
