LAMPANG - Police on Saturday night rescued a disabled 18-year-old woman who was misled into thinking that she would be given work in Bangkok.
Police said the Chiang Rai woman, whose name was withheld, told police that a man who called himself Eke approached her in Phayao province and asked her if she wanted to work in the capital.
After she agreed, Eke took her to meet a middle-aged man in a motel room in Lampang's Muang district. The man in the room conned her into believing that he would take her to Bangkok.
