City mayor shot dead in Songkhla

SONGKHLAThe mayor of Songkhla municipality Peera Tantiseranee was shot dead last night after a meeting with southern non-governmental organisations to discuss radioactive material storage safety.

Attackers sprayed the 54-year-old with bullets from assault rifles as he left Songkhla Forum Co on Nakhon Nai Road.

He was gunned down as he was about to get into his van parked in front of the building at 7.30pm.
