The reshuffle, which took effect on Thursday, brought many senior officers, transferred under the previous Democrat Party-led government, back into the fold.

Android4: I'd be interested to understand exactly which other countries you're referring to that determine police force promotions AND demotions based on allegiance to the leading clan ?

Pol Lt Gen Pongpat said 'many countries, including Japan, Singapore and Canada, have launched community policing schemes which reduced crime and drug use' - these same countries don't operate their police force promotion policy in the same manner as Androids though. They pay them a decent salary and have the results to show for it.

Well that explains a lot. Thanks for being honest, but its like admitting a crime and not be punish for it. Like having a PM who has no political experience. Everything is acceptable in the sea of red.

I guess with such a capable man on top soon all crime in Bangkok will be suppressed. And obviously there won’t be any corrupt police officers anymore because the boss handpicked his team – again obviously all honorable policemen who do their duty.
Just in case that there is still crime and corruption out there in 3 month (the typical Thaksin deadline), will he and his team be removed?

With all due respect, what is this all mean for us inhabitants of Thailand.?
No more VDO Krabi stuff?
No more simple suicides when foreigners drop dead all over the place.
Diminish crime in Pattaya and Phuket?
Or can we leave the envelopes empty with just a "thank you" note?
