Teens acquitted of CentralWorld arson

The Central Juvenile and Family Court on Thursday acquitted two youths of charges of setting fire to CentralWorld shopping centre in Bangkok on May 19, 2010, ruling there was insufficient evidence against them.

Prosecutors filed a case on Sept 7, 2010, against a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy, accusing them of setting fire to CentralWorld on May 19 of that year during the military crackdown on red-shirt protesters.

It was alleged their actions lead to the death of Kittipong Somsuk, a civilian who died in the blaze.

As this case has proven that lack of evidence is grounds for acquittal, guess we can expect Abhisit and Suthep to be acquitted of all charges.

As there are plenty of photos of rioting red shirts inside and outside the mall (which discredits the stupid theory that the army set fire to it), why not publish those photos and arrest those identified.
There's a famous picture of a black shirt standing in front of the doors throwing tyres onto the fire - isn't that a crime anymore?

Agree with Lek What is to stop the prosecution from revealing all the evidence so the red shirts get off. A well known minister's son was acquitted through lack of evidence.

In the current political climate it seems very unlikely that any Redshirt currently in custody will face any punishment.
