Hunt for taxi driver attacker

BANGKOK - A man stabbed a female taxi driver with a knife before running her over with her own car.

Police said the woman, Boonchuay Thongtae, 53, was taken to hospital after she was attacked on a road in Bangkok's Thawi Wattana district on Tuesday morning. She suffered a fractured skull and broken limbs and her throat was cut.

A manhunt is underway for the assailant.

    What a sick individual.What is happening to this country.The violent crime is out of control.Maybe the courts are too soft?God bless this woman and make a speedy recovery.

    I have seen many more women taxi drivers in recent years. I wonder how many of them do worry about their own safety. I would not want any female friend or relative of mine to be driving a taxi alone at all hours of the day.
