Major bike theft gang busted

TRANG: Police arrested five members of a motorcycle theft gang, the province’s biggest, and confiscated 14 stolen bikes worth about 540,000 baht on Thursday.

The arrests came after police launched an investigation to identify and eradicate a gang of thieves responsible for stealing 60 motorcycles from residents in Muang and Yan Ta Khao districts between October and December last year, said Pol Col Thammanoon Traitippayapong, deputy commander of Trang provincial police.  

Most of the seized bikes, which were destined for sale in neighbouring countries, were Honda Wave and Yamaha Fino models for which there is a high demand on the black market, he said

    They can easily smuggled out from Thailand? really then we should wonder how their laws system works. More thieves around when no available works or jobs are to be found. It could be the negative effects of the failure of the government to create more jobs for the jobless.

    Organized crime and racketeering right down to the very lowest education levels? Imagine what happens to Thailand when they turn their crime sights onto something more serious than motorbike theft?
