Cops filmed 'extorting cashier'

Police were caught on video apparently extorting a woman cashier, demanding she post 50,000 baht bail for allegedly conspiring to sell counterfeit goods - a charge she says she vigorously denied.

The clip was uploaded to YouTube on Thursday by a user who went by the name Mild Pond, and was shared throughout the web.

The reputed victim posted on her Facebook page under the username Mild Love Jrt , saying that she worked as a cashier at a shopping mall in Bangkok. A copyright owner came to investigate the stall where she was working  and found that it was distributing counterfeit products.

This case will probably be brushed under the proverbial carpet as it is a normal, daily affair for the BIB. Politicians won't show any interest because they need corrupt police, and for other very obvious reasons.

Just the kind of people we need as governor of Bangkok.

What a shame! A clear and true picture of our police force.
Everyone knows police in Thailand is a business.... nothing else! But few want to talk about it!

Mafia police is the shame of our Nation. Since the justice system is also completely dysfunctional, the only way to expose officials' corruption is through social media. Well done "Mild Love Jrt", Thailand needs more citizens like you!

Cameras are getting smaller, video quality is getting better, and more and more crimes will be exposed. If all of us post videos like that every couple of days then maybe things will get better after a while.
But I am not so sure what will happen if some people see that they are filmed or if the authorities decide to use the computer crime act to check who posted these videos - so we better be careful.

""Militocracy"" at work in Thailand everyday for citizens and foreigners alike. Nothing being done about it at all, except that it's getting worse even.
