Cops told to try again in poach probe against officer

Assistant national police chief Pol Lt Gen Jarumporn Suramanee has ordered a new investigation into a senior officer who was cleared of hunting illegally in a national park.

He said he had reviewed evidence in the case and was convinced a prosecution should have gone ahead.

Pol Lt Col Thirayuth Ketmangmee was caught with eight others while allegedly hunting in Phetchaburi's Kaeng Krachan National Park in November.

    Both the police chief of Kaengkrachan and the provincial prosecutor Mr Worawit should be fired for not charging the police inspector with poaching, this is straight forward neglect. It is sickening to see corruption go this deep, caught red-handed with dead protected wildlife in possession, inside a national park, with a hundred photos on camera! And still say there is no evidence...
