Monk attacks abbot with a knife

LAMPANG – An angry novice monk asked to leave a temple because he was too quarrelsome attacked the abbot with a knife, reports said on Thursday.

Police said they were called to a temple in Muang district of the northern province of Lampang, with a report of a fight between two monks.

The head monk of the temple, Phra Kru Suti Chayakorn, told police that he was chased and attacked by Phra Narong Yuayuan, who was upset with his decision to transfer the novice monk to another temple.
