Ruam Katanyu rescue vehicle attacked

An emergency rescue vehicle operated by the Ruam Katanyu Foundation was hit by several bullets fired by a gunman on a motorcycle in Bangkok early on Tuesday morning.

Chalad Homchan, a volunteer rescuer for the foundation, told Sai Mai police the attack occurred about 2am when the vehicle was parked on the side of the road along Khlong Song in Sai Mai district, on alert for emergency calls.

Mr Chalad told police that he was sitting inside the pickup when two men arrived on a motorcycle and stopped on the other side of the road.

Why is there no centrally operated, properly trained emergency medical service here along the lines of the fire and so-called police?

Never mind, I can guess why...

There has been fierce rivalry among the two main groups, as well as small groups that govern in each individual district. Ruam Katanyu Foundation and Por Tek Teung are probably the two biggest. Either way I think what they do is great but reckless in the way they do their jobs.
