Gunfight leads to drug bust

CHIANG RAI : About 2.2 million speed pills and some 50kg of crystal methamphetamine, or ya ice, worth about 1 billion baht, were seized after police exchanged gunfire with drug suspects in Chiang Rai's Mae Chan district on Thursday night.

Three of the suspects were later arrested.

    Proving yet again that the illegal drug ice continues to be at least at profitable as the legal drug alcohol, all thanks to consistent government policy supporting artificially high prices to the benefit of mafia scum and corrupt officials in the police and elsewhere.

    It seems odd that a Deputy PM known for his own drug use should jump into these nicely staged photo ops. Don't Deputy PM's have anything actually useful and productive to do?
