1m yaba pills seized in Lampang

Narcotics suppression police on Saturday night arrested five people and seized one million methamphetamine pills at a checkpoint in Lampang province.

One of the suspects, Sompote Khieocha-oum, 31, of Chiang Rai's Mae Suay district, was arrested when a pick-up he was driving from Ban Mu Mong Phai in Chiang Mai's Fang district was stopped for a search at the checkpoint on Lampang-Tak road in Lampang's Muang district at 8.50pm.

One million speed pills were found hidden in the vehicle.

    again this just show that drugs in Thai is everywhere....

    If people are driving this amount of drugs through police check points, just imagine how much is getting through by the hills!

    It's not complicated: 1) They are greatly favored by workers, drivers & police / military 2) They are highly addictive 3) They are (still) readily available & not too expensive.

    Although I know that many believe that TS's efforts were draconian & unfair (illegal), in the area where I lived (North) enforcement was not sloppy, but rather, over time, very effective. Now the flood-gates are open once again...
