A group of thieves stole two 200-year-old Buddha images, worth about 10 million baht in total, from Sri Sakhon temple in Sing Buri province, police said on Monday.

The two medium-sized statues were made out of 60 killogrames of gold and were brought from Myanmar to the temple in Sing Buri's Muang district by its first sangha leader.

Six ancient kettles and a Buddha amulet were also taken from the room.
