- +

The Criminal Court on Friday sentenced Pracha Pothipipit to one year in jail for illegally occupying two plots of public land in two provinces.

The court delivered the sentence to the former Democrat Party MP with no suspended term after state prosecutors produced solid evidence, including land deeds and aerial maps. Planning to appeal, Mr Pracha was released on bail after his lawyer, Songsak Pothipipit, posting 100,000 baht in assets.

Precha Pothipipit, or "Kamnan Sia," participates in political activities during a campaign leading up to the general election in 2011.
