Campaign gathering to highlight UDD actions

The Democrat Party has vowed to press ahead with its plan to hold a large campaign rally in Bangkok's Ratchaprasong area on Thursday.

Despite escalating criticism by the red shirt United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship, party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva affirmed yesterday that the plan was still on.

englishbob D44 - The theory is that the UDD were framed - similar to how Hitler burned parliament and blamed it on communists. The last speech held at Ratchaprasong by a UDD leader pleaded that all red shirts go home peacefully, and most did - keep that in mind. However, I'd bet a Chang beer that the fires were caused by a handful of disenfranchised red shirt extremists - and they should be punished by the full extent of the law after a fair trial. But do not insist on a blanket punishment on all 1+ million UDD members.

SMILES D39: The truth will out at the democrats rally? I don't think so.

    1) the democrat-led government has blocked many web sites showing videos it deems will not support its official spin and opposition web site media, opposition TV and radios stations closed en masse, their leaders sitting over a year jailed on military installations without trial or even charges except for a few bogus ones, in fact, anything that does not suit the official spin is blocked.

The flow of information is 99% controlled by the government.

    2) This is what is know as the power of the people. Despite trying to lead them around by the nose somehow, by word of mouth and peering through the cracks the people will not always be fooled. Not any longer anyway.

#44, your question has not been properly expressed. He asks how the Red shirts could burn CW when it was secured, as showed in a lot of videos quickly removed. Maybe can you answer. I every time like read a condescending expert in nonsenses talking about nonsenses.

I think all people should respect the result of the election. It is a true democracy.
The result of the election reflects a result of the feeling of the many people's opinion.
So, all people should recieve the new government's policy. A sit‐in protest rally and a coup d'état are not a democratic action. "No, Vote !"movement is not a democracy.
If a defeated dogs does nothing, nothing happen in Bangkok. Do you understand ?
Until now, Which group always has been begun to destroy and obstruct the parliamentary democracy by a sit‐in protest rally ? Red-shirts ?? I don't think so.
I don't like the Media bias. I disdain a newspaper and other mass-media which reporting a biased News script.

    @Disc 35
Strange. Because on Youtube you can STILL see videos of Red Shirts whooping and shouting in front of a burning Central World. Which kind of ruins the ridiculous conspiracy theory. Even the farang idiot Savage knew of the plan to burn down the mall the week before.

BTW Big C opposite Central world was also burnt. And a beautiful old cinema in Siam Square. And I saw with my own eyes Red Shirts setting fire to SET and the electric station at Rama IV.

So, in the light of overwhelming evidence, please explain why the military would burn down ONE of the 39 buildings destroyed that day. Some people are so eager to believe nonsense, they will accept any lie they hear.

If course the Peu Thai are against it, they are against anything legal and anything that will help Thailand, they work for Taksin, and they do not care about Thailand, or the Thai People. Why would you want those people in charge of you're country, they carry weapons around, have a bad temper and are not kind people at all, it is a scary though to have them in control.

The party's planned campaign activities in the Ratchaprasong area were not aimed at stirring up unrest, nor at creating disunity among people with different political preferences, Mr Abhisit added.

Talk about overlooking the obvious, Mr Abhisit in admitting that the planned campaign rally at Ratchaprasong is stiring up unrest and creating disunity among people and that his party never planned for it, however the plan is still on and they are going to go ahead.

Does that show a lack of respect and compassion for the people and the families who lost loved ones during the Ratchaprasong crackdown?

It struck me that this is all about remembrance! The UDD likes to go to Ratchaprasong to remember the dead. The Dems want to go there to remember the dead as well. Both the UDD and Dems tell different stories about how the dead died, but they should be remembered nevertheless. I find it impossible to understand how the UDD can protest about Thais remembering Thais. Unless the are worried about having their thunder stolen?

#35, a lot have seen the same videos and their so quick disappearing. WHY, ask you. Because it's easy more for some BP posters and some others to publish their nonsense and approximations. You ask evidences, they answer propaganda. But God will recognise his own people.

Abbub and rpt777, you seem to be rather upset that the truth and nothing but the truth be revealed to the public??? After one year of redshirt lies, denials and intoxication it is about time!!! And lets hold an action in front of the 35 other buildings the red thugs set to fire...or has Ratchaprasong become a " red village" in the centre of Bangkok; off -limits for anybody not following blindly the red cause?????
