Pongsapat to outline vision as governor

Deputy national police chief Pongsapat Pongcharoen, who will run as the Pheu Thai Party's candidate in the upcoming Bangkok governor election, will outline his vision for the city at a meeting of the party’s executive committee on Tuesday.

Pheu Thai spokesman Prompong Nopparat revealed Pol Gen Pongsapat’s planned schedule in the lead up to the election on Thursday, the Daily News website reported. 

Mr Prompong said the party’s executive committee would call a meeting on Sunday to officially endorse Pol Gen Pongsapat as the candidate for the city’s top job. The officer would have to resign from his three posts as deputy police chief, secretary-general of the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) and as a member of the State Enterprise Policy Office’s board before apply for membership of the party the next day.

    Re discussion 5: I think there is a misunderstanding here. Thai police are second most well-reputated for corruption... Some of them drug dealers themselves.
