Voters 'want honest governor'

Honesty tops the list of qualities Bangkok residents are seeking in a governor, according to a new Suan Dusit Poll.

The pollsters from Suan Dusit Rajabhat University interviewed 1,215 eligible voters in Bangkok, seeking their opinions on their preference to become Bangkok governor, from Jan 14-18.

The two front runners in the election scheduled for March 3 are MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra, the Democrat incumbent, and Pol Gen Pongsapat Pongcharoen, who has the backing of the Pheu Thai Party.

    "good, honest and moral"...?

Well those are the qualities that spring to everyone's mind when 'Thai policeman' is mentioned, right?

These Public Opinion Polls are conducted by Opposition sympathisers, and is the reason they often reflect Opposition agenda's. Agenda laundering if you will. In this case, it is the agenda of some in that Opposition who cannot win elections, to demonize Politicians as a class. They are not supporters of Electoral Democracy. This headline reflects that thinking.

If they really want an honest Governor they will have to move out of the country to have it. There is no honesty and no morals here.

Honesty means jenuine;integrity. Extinction means nolonger exist. Endangered species means the species present in such small numbers. If you construct the sentence with these three words it will look like this...The honest (Thai)politicians are endangered species and soon will face an extinction.

I see a job opening for a foreigner or is being governor a protected job only for Thais. In that case I think the Thai people get stuffed with a just other "more of the same" governor and can't choose much more the for the less worse one.

"Honesty tops the list of qualities Bangkok residents are seeking in a governor" Looks like they are going to be out of luck then, (again)!

If the PT fields a police general, they will have no problem with corruption or any other law breaking activities in Bangkok, (think casinos, massage parlors, prostitution, etc.) when their candidate gets in power. Can also put serious pressure on the opposition using immoral influence and other shady intimidating practices. Not to mention taking over the financial interests all things under the control of the BMA and other huge financial budgets such as the rail projects. More money to be made if they control Bangkok versus controlling Isaan.

No policies or vision to improve Bangkok?
