Contenders for deputy narrow as 2 ruled out

At least two prominent figures are tipped to be off the list as potential running mates for Bangkok governor candidates from the Pheu Thai and Democrat parties.

Former MP Pavena Hongsakula, who is the chairwoman of the Pavena Foundation for Children and Women, dismissed speculation she might be made deputy governor for Pongsapat Pongcharoen, Pheu Thai's candidate in the race.

She insisted she would rather impart advice to Pol Gen Pongsapat on social issues if it is needed.

    "Abhisit Vejjajiva made it clear the running mate for MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra, the party's candidate, must not have a tainted record." That's right. Sukhumbhand has enough of a tainted record for everyone. No need to have any more taint.
