HM the Queen's condition improves

The health of Her Majesty the Queen has improved but she remains in King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, the Royal Household Bureau said on Saturday.

The Queen left Siriraj Hospital to stay at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital on July 24 for follow-up checks on her lungs. The visit was arranged after the Queen experienced a fever and coughing on July 22, the bureau said in a statement.

An X-ray on July 22 also found a lung inflammation and blood infection. A team of doctors caring for the Queen then advised Her Majesty to be treated at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, the statement added.

The doctors declared the results of the treatment at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital satisfactory as Her Majesty's condition had improved with no fever, the bureau said, adding that her coughing had also lessened.

The doctors, however, recommended the Queen remain at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital before returning to Siriraj.
