Bangkok is one of the 23 best cities in the world for street food, according to international news network CNN.

CNN published its list of 23 cities it considered having the best street meals on its website on Tuesday.

It did not specifically rank the cities, but Bangkok was at the top of the story. The CNN said it is impossible to avoid street food in Bangkok, where sidewalk vendors in different parts of the city operate on a fixed rotation.

"Some take care of the breakfast crowd with sweet soymilk and bean curd, others dish up fragrant rice and poached chicken for lunch. The late-night crowd offers everything from phad thai noodles to grilled satay."

CNN interviewed Chef Van, of the French brasserie 4Garcons on Thong Lor Soi 13 in Bangkok, who recommended street food in Chinatown or Yaowarat.

Second on the list was Tokyo, Japan, with Honolulu in Hawaii third, followed by Durban in South Africa and New Orleans, Louisiana, in the US.
