Vibhavadi Rangsit road is the busiest in Bangkok, used by more than 150,000 vehicles each day, according to City Hall's traffic and transport department.

Figures released by the department show that Vibhavadi Rangsit road (Din Daeng - National Memorial) had the highest volume of traffic at 158,711 vehicles per day on average.

It is followed by Rama II road (Dao Khanong - Samae Dam) with 144,958 vehicles per day; Chaeng Watthana (Laksi - Khlong Prapa) 110,188; Ngam Wong Wan (Kasetsat intersection - Phong Phet intersection) 94,820; Si Nakharin (Lam Sali intersection - Paradise) 75,324; Phahon Yothin (Victory Monument - Air Force) 60,237; Ram Intra (Wong Wien Bang Khen -  BMA boundary) 55,768; Phetkasem (Charan Sanitwong - Phuttha Monthon Sai 2) 51,051; Borom Ratchachonnanee 44,864; and, Bang Na - Trat 25,017.

In addition to Vibhavadi Rangsit attracting heavy traffic by being the gateway to the North and Northeast, the construction of the Green Line electric train (Mor Chit - Saphan Mai - Khu Khot) and Red Line (Bang Sue - Rangsit) has caused motorists to avoid Phahon Yothin road and use Vibhavadi Rangsit instead, adding to the traffic.

Statistics released by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and the government show that in 2015 the average speed of vehicles in Bangkok was 15 kilometres per hour in the morning and 22 kilometres per hour in the evening.

There were nearly 10 million vehicles registered in Bangkok in 2015.
