Motorists can start paying on Thursday traffic tickets for offences caught on cameras at Krungthai Bank's 1,200 branches nationwide and its KTB netbank online service.

Ticket payments through the bank's 9,000 ATMs and at all police stations will begin on Sept 5.

Krungthai Bank president Vorapak Thanyawong and police chief Chakthip Chaijinda on Tuesday announced the cooperation to support the government's National e-Payment scheme on Tuesday.

At present, motorists can pay traffic tickets in cases where their driving licences have not been seized at police stations.

Police will start issuing tickets with barcode to accommodate the electronic payments on Thursday.
