There appears little chance of Bangkok escaping more rainfall as the Meteorological Department expects most of the capital to be wet for another week.

Up to 70% of Greater Bangkok will experience rain until Saturday, the weather bureau said on Sunday. Downpours are possible from the afternoon to late at night for the entire week, it added.

Hard hit areas in Greater Bangkok on Saturday night were Muang Thong Thani in Nonthaburi and some areas on Ram Intra road in Bangkok.

Roads to Muang Thong Thani and Chaeng Wattana road were flooded until Sunday, making traffic in the areas congested, and workers are draining water from the areas with extra pumps.

The department said more rain was possible later in the day on Sunday.
