Chirayu: Replaces Kaewkwan Vajarothai

A Royal Command has been issued to appoint Chirayu Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya as the new Lord Chamberlain of the Royal Household Bureau.

The Royal Command, which was issued on Friday, and counter-signed by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, was published in the Royal Gazette yesterday.

Mr Chirayu, 74, who is director-general of the Crown Property Bureau, will replace Kaewkwan Vajarothai, who died peacefully on the morning of Sept 15, as Lord Chamberlain.

Kaewkwan died of heart failure at the age of 88 after having received treatment for cardiac problems.

Kaewkwan underwent surgery and had been under the care of doctors for a period before his death, said Prasit Wattanapa, dean of the faculty of medicine at Siriraj Hospital.

Under the same Royal Command, eight other people have been appointed to positions in the Royal Household Bureau.

They include ACM Satitpong Sukvimol being appointed Grand Chamberlain for policy administration and operations; and Somchai Kanchanamanee, Grand Chamberlain for royal residences.

Others are Jumpol Manmai, Grand Chamberlain for security and special activities; and Songkram Supecharoen, appointed Personal Physician to His Majesty the King.
