10 Bangkok roads shut Sunday evening

Bangkok motorists and commuters have been advised to avoid 10 roads in the central business district on Sunday evening as they will be closed to accommodate delegates attending the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) summit.

Traffic will be banned between 5 and 7pm Sunday and again between 8.30 and 10pm as government heads participating in the three-day forum at the Plaza Athenee Bangkok in Pathumwan district will attend a dinner hosted by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha at the Royal Thai Navy Convention Hall in Thon Buri.

The 10 roads affected are: Phloenchit; Ratchadamri; Sukhumvit (between the Phloenchit Expressway intersection and the Asok intersection); Withayu; Rama I; Rama IV (Witthayu intersection to Sala Daeng intersection); Charoen Krung (Si Phraya intersection to Chalermphan intersection); Lan Luang, Phra Pin Klao and Arun Amarin.

The three-day event started on Saturday with an informal working dinner of ACD foreign ministers. It will be followed by the day-long ACD Connect Business Forum on Sunday and a dinner for ACD leaders, and a full-day summit on Monday.
