Khlong San district declared temporary rabies epidemic zone

The 12th Livestock Office of Bangkok has declared Khlong San district a temporary rabies epidemic zone until Nov 9 following an outbreak of the disease involving cats.

The outbreak started around from Wat Anongkharam Worawiharn on Somdet Chao Phraya Road in Khlong San district.

According to the announcement, issued on Oct 10 by the 12th Livestock Office, the epidemic zone is limited to Phra Nakhon and Samphanthawong districts to the North, Bang Kholaem district to the South, Bang Rak and Sathon districts to the East, and Thonburi district to the West.

Rabies is a very dangerous disease that affects dogs and other animals and can be transmitted between humans and animals.
