The mass flow of mourners to the Grand Palace to pay their respects to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej was unrelenting on Sunday despite heavy downpours.

Black-clad mourners formed long queues from the Wiset Chaisri Gate to Sanam Luang amidst heavy rain that pounded Bangkok at around 11am.

People were allowed to pay their respects to the King in the Sahathai Samakhom Pavilion inside the Grand Palace from 8am to 4pm.

Sanam Luang and areas around the Grand Palace were also occupied by many mourners who prayed for peace for the spirit of the King. Several agencies and volunteers distributed drinking water and food to mourners.
