Thailand Post has urged people wanting to obtain free commemorative postcards affixed with a stamp bearing the image of King Bhumibol to register online or at post offices across the country from Nov 7 to 30.

On the Thailand Post Facebook page, Samorn Terdthampiboon, president of the state-owned postal company, said people would be asked to fill out registration forms showing their ID card numbers and contact addresses online or at post offices.

Thailand Post will send the postcards to those who register free of charge.

The one-baht stamp carries the image of the late King in an air force commander's uniform and will be pre-stamped Oct 13, 2016, the date the King's passing.

A total of 9,999,999 stamps will be distributed with a limit of one postcard for each person, said Ms Samorn.
