Bus damages 61 vehicles, injures 12

PATHUM THANI - A city bus damaged altogether 61 vehicles and injured 12 people after the driver lost control of it in Muang district on Tuesday evening, police said.

Pak Khlong Rangsit police said the incident occurred at about 5pm when a Bus No.367 heading for Pathum Thani rammed into 18 vehicles which were parked along the Rangsit-Pathum Thani Road, damaging all of them.

The bus then ran into Sirichaiyanyon, a motorcycle shop, damaging 43 motorcycles in the showroom, before grinding to a halt.

Thongkham Jaemprakhon, 55, the bus driver, told police that the bus went without brakes after leaving a bus terminal in Rangsit with about 30 passengers on board, causing him to lose control of it.

Twelve people on the road were injured. Five of them sustained minor injuries while seven others were taken by Poh Teck Tung Foundation rescuers to Krung Siam Saint Carlos Hospital for treatment.
