Entertainment allowed for Loy Krathong

Entertainment and other activities can be held as usual, but in an appropriate manner, during the Loy Krathong Festival next week, the Interior Ministry said in a letter sent to all provincial governors on Monday.

The letter was signed by interior permanent secretary Grisda Boonrach, in his capacity as deputy chief of the National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Command.

This year Loy Krathong Day falls on Monday, Nov 14.

According to the letter, various forms of entertainment, both by the private and public sectors, including musical and cultural shows and  traditional Krathong contests, can be held as usual, but in an appropriate manner.

The kingdom is in a state of mourning  for King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
