Fire hits luxury home in Korat

NAKHON RATCHASIMA - A fire broke out at a luxury home at Porntawa Grand Ville Housing Estate in Muang district of this northeastern province late Saturday night. There were no casualties.

Pol Capt Apinan Suwan-amporn, an inquiry officer at Pho Klong police station, said the fire broke out on the second floor of house number 44/6.

Firefighters from Tambon Pruyai and nearby municipalties were able to put out the fire in about one hour. There were no casualties.

Noppakao McKrend, 37, the owner of the house, said she was not home when the fire broke out.  At the time, her husband, who is a foreigner, their daughter, and her mother were on the first floor.

Police were investigating the cause of the fire. The damage had yet to be assessed.
