CHON BURI - Police are hunting a group of young men for raping two teenage girls after getting them drunk and then dumping them unconscious in an alley in Pattaya on Monday night.

The girls, one of them aged 13, told police they were relaxing on the beach on Monday evening when five strangers approached them. The young men persuaded the girls to drink with them.

The girls became intoxicated. Two of the men took the older girl, in her mid-teens, to a nearby area and raped her. Another man raped the 13-year-old nearby.

The girls passed out and were dumped in the middle of Soi Sukhumvit-Pattaya 10 in tambon Na Kleua, Bang Lamung district, where they were found by a local resident who alerted police about 1am, according to Bang Lamung police.

The 42-year-old mother of the younger girl told police her daughter had gone out with an older girl on Sunday, and she had learned of their plight on Tuesday.

Pol Lt Col Apinthanant Wattanawarangkul, deputy chief investigator at Bang Lamung, said police had identified the suspects and were tracking them down.
