His Majesty the King sent a letter of condolence yesterday to Indonesian President Joko Widodo following the deadly 6.5-magnitude earthquake that struck Aceh province in the northern part of Sumatra Island on Wednesday morning.
The King said in the letter that he was saddened by reports of the earthquake which resulted in the loss of many lives, hundreds of injuries and considerable damage to infrastructure and property in North Sumatra.
"I wish to extend my sincere sympathy and condolences to Your Excellency and, through you, to all those who have suffered loss and bereavement in this natural disaster," the King said.
