With a section of the rail track between Bang Saphan Yai and Cha Muang railway stations in Prachuap Khiri Khan province flooded and impassable, the State Railway of Thailand has suspended most southern rail services.
The announcement was made by the SRT's public relations office on Facebook on Tuesday. It said the track between the two stations was about 20 centimetres metres under water.
South-bound trains which remain in service will terminate at Hua Hin and Prachuap Khiri Khan stations. They are:
- Special express train No. 43 (Bangkok - Surat Thani), to Hua Hin only;
- Ordinary train No. 43 (Bangkok - Hua Hin);
- Special express train No. 39 (Bangkok - Surat Thani), to Hua Hin only;
- Ordinary train No. 255 (Thon Buri - Lang Suan), to Prachuap Khiri Khan only; and,
- Ordinary train No. 251 (Thon Buri - Prachuap Khiri Khan).
The return trains which remain in service, but will start only from Hua Hin and Prachuap Khiri Khan are:
- Special express train No. 40 (Surat Thani - Bangkok), from Hua Hin;
- Ordinary train No. 262 (Hua Hin - Bangkok);
- Special express train No. 44 (Surat Thani - Bangkok), from Hua Hin;
- Ordinary train No. 254 (Lang Suan - Thon Buri), from Prachuap Khiri Khan; and,
- Ordinary train No. 252 (Prachuap Khiri Khan - Thon Buri).
All other train services on southern routes have been suspended.
