Rail services to the South are expected to resume sometime on Thursday, when track repairs in Prachuap Khiri Khan are due to be completed, but trains will still terminate at Thung Song station in Nakhon Si Thammarat province.

State Railway governor Wuthichart Kalyanamitra said on Wednesday the rain stopped in Bang Saphan district, Prachuap Khiri Khan, on Tuesday night and repairs to the flood damaged track foundation between Bang Saphan and Cha Muang train stations were able to go ahead.

The rain was still holding off and more workers and materials were reaching the scene. Southern train services through the area should resume on Thursday and go as far as Thung Song station in Nakhon Si Thammarat, he said.

The Bangkok-Hua Hin service, train No. 261, ran as usual on Wednesday, but the two Bangkok-Surat Thani trains,  Nos. 39 and 43, could go only as far as Prachuap Khiri Khan station.

Thon Buri-Phrachuap Khiri Khan train No. 251 ran as usual. Thon Buri-Lang Suan train No. 255 was stopped at Prachuap Khiri Khan station.

Bangkok-bound, Hua Hin-Bangkok train No. 262 operated normally. Surat Thani-Bangkok trains Nos. 40 and 44 ran from Prachuap Khiri Khan to Bangkok.

Prachuap Khiri Khan-Thon Buri train No. 252 operated normally, and Lang Suan-Thon Buri train No. 256 ran from Prachuap Khiri Khan to Bangkok.

Other southern train services remained suspended. The tracks south of Nakhon Si Thammarat remain flooded.
