Thailand lost two points in total score used in the <a href="https://www.passportindex.org/" target="_blank">Passport Index</a>, the global ranking of countries based on how easily their citizens can travel without the need for a visa.
In the 2017 individual country ranking, Thailand ranked 107th of 199 countries with a visa-free score of 70 (34 visa-free and 36 visa-on-arrival). This means Thai passport holders can travel visa-free to 34 countries and go to another 36 where a visa can be applied on arrival.
In terms of passport power grouping, Thailand was in the 54th of all 95 global ranks, the same group as Nauru and Suriname.
Germany continued to take the lead with a visa-free score of 157.
Singapore overtook South Korea to become the highest ranked Asian passport, with a visa-free score of 156, coming second.
South Korea fell to 6th place (152), while Japan, rose to 4th place, tied with European countries like Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, and others whose visa-free score is 154.
The Passport Index is conducted by Arton Capital, an international financial advisory company.
