A Bhutanese teacher who had been missing since Jan 23, Harka Bahadur Subba, has been found and is now in the care of the Police Hospital in Bangkok.

Mr Subba, 39, part of  a group of teachers on a study tour to Thailand, was reported missing at 6.30am on Jan 23.  He was last seen walking away from the Sena Place Hotel in the Phahon Yothin area.

Investigators from Chana Songkhram and Bang Sue police stations, together with the Mirror Foundation, have been looking for him.

Mr Subba was reportedly seen on CCTV footage walking along Khlong Lod and turning in the direction of the Giant Swing around 8pm on Jan 23.

He was later seen walking at various spots in tambon Samrong Nua of Samut Prakan's Muang district. Pol Maj Gen Thamnoon Traithippng, the provincial police chief, ordered a search for him.

On Sunday a foreign man was found lying unconscious in front of J.R. Sukiyaki shop in tambon Pak Nam about 6pm. Residents informed Samutprakarn Hospital and an ambulance was sent to take him to the hospital.

Hospital staff did not know who he was and he was unable to communicate either in Thai or English. They informed police while the man was provided with treatment at the hospital.

Police went to the hospital on Thursday morning. He was identified from a photograph as Harka Bahadur Subba, the Bhutanese teacher missing since Jan 23.

The police informed the Bhutanese embassy.

Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda, the police chief,  ordered that Mr Subba be moved to the Police Hospital, where he is currently under care.
