CHUMPHON - A young man has been arrested at a road checkpoint in Tha Sae district while trying to smuggle 300,000 speed pills from a central province to the South.
An anti-drug task force stopped for a search a Toyota car with a Bangkok licence plate at the checkpoint on southbound Phetkasem Road in tambon Hong Charoen on Friday evening after seeing the driver acting suspiciously, said police.
The search found 300,000 speed pills hidden in the compartment of the car's back seat.
Driver Suriyan Kaewsrichan, 26, of Udon Thani’s Nong Han district, was caught and he confessed to having been hired for 300,000 baht to deliver the drugs from Nakhon Pathom to Songkhla province.
