Four men have turned themselves in to police after one of the gunshots fired to celebrate a wedding ceremony killed an observer on Sunday.

They reported to Huay Yai police on Sunday night, hours after Thanes Inthawong had been killed, and brought with them three 9mm pistols and one .45mm fired during the parade taking a groom to the house of his bride in Ban Huay Khai Nao, Bang Lamung district, Chon Buri province.

The four were identified by Daily News Online as Wasin Kongkaew, 20, Athit Lomrorb, 20, Thinnapat Charoensiri, 23, and Jeerapat Lomrorb, 20.

They joined the parade and fired the guns about 100 metres before Sumeth Lomrorb, the groom, reached his bride's house, where the ceremony was held.

One of the bullets killed Thanes, who was about to leave his friend's house after finishing breakfast. The house is located on a road where the procession passed.

Police found a dozen bullet shells from 11mm, 9mm and .38mm pistols at the scene where Thanes died.

Police have not determined the bullet that took Thanes' life.

Huay Yai police chief Pol Col Anan Purahong said the four admitted to shooting the pistols during the procession but denied killing Thanes.

They were taken for a crime re-enactment on Monday and escorted to the Police Forensic Science Centre in Chon Buri to check gunshot residue for the identification of the killing pistol.

All faces three counts of charges of possessing firearms without permission, having firearms in public places without permission and firing gunshots in public places.

Their bail request was denied and they will be sent to the Pattaya court on Tuesday for indictment.

Two of the suspects bear the same surname as the groom's but their relationships are unclear.
