The Crime Suppression Division (CSD) police will bring in Pol Gen Jumpol Manmai, who was on Monday dismissed from his position as Grand Chamberlain of the Bureau of the Royal Household, for questioning Thursday.
Jumpol: Suspect in encroachment case
Pol Gen Jumpol is expected to be indicted at Nakhon Ratchasima provincial court on the same day as the questioning, said the same source.
Pol Gen Jumpol is among three suspects in a land encroachment case in Wang Nam Khieo district in the northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima.
Previously, the Royal Thai Police said a complaint was lodged with Wang Nam Khieo police against three suspects -- Pol Gen Jumpol, deputy commissioner of Provincial Police Region 5, Pol Maj Gen Pongdech Prommichit and the police major general's girlfriend Chayanis Pisitwanich -- after a Feb 6 raid on a 13-rai compound which has six houses, suspected of being Pol Gen Jumpol's.
Pol Maj Gen Pongdech was previously dismissed from the police force for alleged encroachment in a forest reserve in Wang Nam Khieo district. Pending an investigation, the alleged offence is related to a case of forest encroachment against Pol Gen Jumpol.
According to a copy of the BRH's order No.183/2560 dated Feb 27, 2017 and signed by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, Pol Gen Jumpol who served as a high-level executive at the bureau, committed disciplinary misconduct thought to be serious.
As a senior civil servant working closely with the King, Pol Gen Jumpol also abused his position to seek personal gain and had a political bias which was deemed a threat to internal security and led to him being no longer trusted by the monarch, according to the same copy of the bureau's order.
All the acts were considered severe disciplinary misconduct which resulted in his dismissal.
