Pol Col Khemphat Pothipithak, chief of Khlong Luang police in Pathum Thani province, has been transferred to an inactive post at the Provincial Police Region 1 headquarters, effective from March 1.
The transfer order was signed by Pol Lt Gen Chanthep Sesavej, commissioner of Provincial Police Region 1.
Pol Col Samart Srisiriwiboonchai, deputy commander of Pathum Thani police, has been assigned as acting Khlong Luang police chief.
It was not known whether the abrupt transfer had anything to do with the ongoing but fruitless search of Wat Phra Dhammakaya in Khlong Luang district for its former abbot Phra Dhammajayo.
