More than 532,000 men showed up for this year's conscription which drafted about 103,000, half of whom voluntarily applied.
Army deputy spokesperson Col Sirichan Nga-thong said on Sunday that 532,227 men turned up for this year's conscription the army organised from April 1-12, and 103,097 of them were drafted.
Of the draftees, 49%, or 50,580, volunteered.
The voluntary application rose from last year's conscription. Col Sirichan attributed the increase to a higher monthly salary of about 10,000 baht and the military's welfare and image.
