Thai students win in German science contest

Five Thai secondary school students have each won a bronze medal in an international competition on scientific research in the German city of Stuttgart.

The medals were awarded by the Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology for outstanding work in the fields of life and environmental sciences at the International Conference of Young Scientists.

The bronze medallists in life sciences were Voravong Lertamnuayporn, from Mahidol Wittayanusorn School; Peesadej Yensamer, from Ratchasima Wittaya School in Nakhon Ratchasima; and Julalak Intasin, from Yupparaj Wittayalai School in Chiang Mai.

Rathanon Thippaphachote, from Samsen Witthayalai School, and Thamonwan Thongdee, from Princess Chulabhorn's College in Nakhon Si Thammarat, won bronze medals for their work in environmental sciences.

The young students carried out presentations of their research in the conference.
