Thais warned to exercise extra caution in UK

The Thai embassy in London on Wednesday issued a warning for Thais living in Britain to exercise extreme caution and be extra vigilant when visiting public areas.

The warning came after Britain increased its security threat level from "severe'' to "critical", its highest level following Tuesday’s suicide bombing at an Ariana Grand concert in Manchester that killed 22 people and wounded 59 others.

On its Facebook page, the Thai embassy on Wednesday advisd Thais in Britain to exercise a high degree of caution when travelling in public areas, to closely monitor the news for information and strictly abide by advice given by British authorities.

The embassy issued a similar travel warning for Thais planning to visit the UK.

They are advised to also give their addresses and contact channels to the embassy for assistance if it is necessary. In an emergency, they could contact the embassy at tel  079 186 51720 and 074 368 315.
