Floods remain in 10 provinces

Flooding continues to afflict nine northeastern provinces and one central plain province, and in the past month has affected 1.8 million people in 44 provinces and claimed 28 lives.

Chatchai Promlert, director-general of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, said on Monday that floods remain in the northeastern provinces of Amnat Charoen, Kalasin, Nakhon Phanom, Nakhon Ratchasima, Nong Khai, Roi Et, Sakon Nakhon, Ubon Ratchathani, and Yasothon; and Ayutthaya in the Central Plain.

Floodwaters have inundated all districts of Amnat Charoen, Kalasin, Roi Et, Sakon Nakhon, and Yasothon.

In the ten provinces, floods affected nearly 1 million people in about 6,500 villages.

The Meteorological Department predicted imminent heavy rain in the North, the Northeast, the East and the western coast of the South.
