Australian falls to death in Pattaya

PATTAYA: An Australian man fell to his death from a hotel in this resort town in the early hours of Monday.

Pattaya police were reported at 3am the man had been found dead near the swimming pool at R-Con Blue Ocean Hotel on Soi Bua Khao, Bang Lamung district.

Upon reaching the hotel, they found the body with a broken skull and limbs at odd angles. A driver’s licence was found nearby.

An initial investigation found the 63-year-old man, whose name was withheld pending notification to relatives, had stayed alone in Room No.713 on the 7th storey, said the police, adding he reportedly had some health conditions.

Witnesses are being questioned to determine the cause of death. His body was moved to Institute of Forensic Medicine of the Police General Hospital in Bangkok for an autopsy.
