Police said 50 gold chains of various patterns had been found in their bag.

They were sent to Nong Chang police station to face theft charges. Police said the two denied the allegations.

They allegedly robbed Mae Tang Guay shop in Nong Chang on Monday. CCTV footage captured two people wearing hoods entering the shop. One, wielding a crowbar, forced the owners into the back of the shop while the other swept gold ornaments into a bag.

They made off with 188 baht-weight of gold worth more than 3 million baht, according to the police.

Chanyong Nopparat, who ran the shop, was injured by the crowbar, they added.

Police said they had managed to use CCTV footage along the escape route to track the rented Toyota Vios car all the way to Bang Lamung.
