KALASIN: A woman who went missing on Friday was found dead in an irrigation canal in Muang district of this northeastern province on Sunday morning, police said.
The woman, Thongsai Promdee, 54, left her home in Phon Thong villlage at about 8pm on Friday and never returned. A search was launched on Saturday after her disappearance was reported to police by her husband Kanha Sawinchai, 59.
At about 7am on Sunday, the body of a woman was found floating in an irrigation canal about three kilometres from the village. Mr Kanha confirmed that the body, wearing only a pair of trousers, was of his missing wife.
An investigation was underway to establish the cause of her death.
