His delegation includes 3rd Army commander Lt Gen Sathit Pittarat,  Permpong Chaowalit, secretary-general of the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB), anti-narcotics suppression police and  Mae Fa Luang Foundation secretary-general MR Disnadda Disakul.

His trip follows the recent visit by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, who gave notice of the  topics he wanted to discuss, said Gen Paiboon.

This included the Involvement of ethnic minority groups along the border in drug trafficking, which was a major  obstacle he said.

During the visit, the Mae Fa Luang Foundation’s alternative agricultural projects will be introduced in areas which are production bases of illicit drugs, said Gen Paiboon.
